Our made-to-measure picture mounts are cut in the UK to your own opening and outside dimensions. Refresh a frame you already love, fit an unusually sized print, or create a consistent finish for a collection of photographs.
Choose a single mount for a simple border, or a double mount for a fine line of a second colour. The designer above shows your choices as you go, so you can find a combination that feels right for your picture.

THE FINISH IS IN THE DETAILS
Specify the exact opening and outside size in millimetres. We can cut mounts up to 815 × 1,120mm, in either landscape or portrait orientation.
Each layer uses 1.3mm white-core, acid-neutral mountboard. The angled cut reveals a fine white edge around the opening for a neat, finished look.
Your picture mount is made to your measurements. From a single photograph to a set of prints, you choose the proportions and colours that suit your work.
TWO WAYS TO FINISH YOUR PICTURE
A quiet neutral or a little contrast: choose the finish you like, with the same exact fit.
One layer of mountboard gives your photograph or artwork a clear border and a clean, bevelled opening. Smooth White is a versatile starting point, while a warmer neutral can complement softer colours in your picture.
A single mount works well when you want a simple finish, or when you’re replacing a mount in an existing frame.

Two layers create depth, with a narrow strip of inner colour around the picture. Choose a subtle pairing, pick out a colour from your artwork, or use a dark inner mount for a more defined edge.
The inner border starts at 4mm. You can fine-tune it in Advanced settings without changing the opening or outside size you’ve entered.

This is the part of your picture you want to see. We cut the opening exactly as entered, so allow a little overlap behind the mount. An opening 4mm smaller than your picture gives 2mm of overlap on each edge.
This is the full size of the mountboard. For an existing frame, measure the glass or backing board that fits inside it, rather than the frame’s outer edges.
The designer centres your opening to begin with. Check both sizes on the final review, or use Advanced settings if you’d like different border widths.

Bring a consistent look to an exhibition, a photography collection or a wall of family pictures. Create your mount once, then change the quantity in your basket. Discounts of up to 50% apply to multiples of the same mount.

A LITTLE HELP
From choosing a colour to checking your frame, here are the details worth knowing.
Speak to our teamA picture mount is the border between your artwork and its frame. It gives the image breathing space and helps you fit a smaller picture into a larger frame. The window in the middle is called the opening, or aperture.
No. We cut the exact opening width and height you enter. If the whole picture measures 210 × 297mm, for example, an opening of 206 × 293mm gives 2mm of overlap on every edge. Check that the overlap won’t hide a signature or an important detail.
Your final opening and outside dimensions stay the same. The inner colour occupies part of the border between them. With a 50mm combined border and a 4mm inner border, 46mm is allocated to the top mount. Advanced settings let you choose an inner border from 1–20mm, provided there is at least 20mm of top mount on every side.
Yes. Match the outside size to the glass or backing board in your frame, and check that there is enough depth for the mount and your picture. A double mount uses two layers of 1.3mm board, so allow for the extra thickness.
White and neutral picture mounts let the artwork take the lead. A darker colour creates a stronger outline, while a double mount lets you introduce a small accent without changing the whole border. Use the preview to compare combinations; screen colours are a guide and can differ from the finished board.
