How much does a mount overlap my artwork?

To ensure your artwork does not just fall through the front of the mount's opening, we will cut your mount slightly smaller than the size you enter. A mount will overlap your artwork by 4mm on each side. This means that in total, the mount size will be 8mm smaller on both the width and the height.

What is barrier board?

A barrier board is a sheet of acid neutral board that will sit behind your artwork inside the frame. It helps to keep your artwork flat within the frame to avoid any ripples or creases. It can also improve the lifespan and reduce fading of your artwork over very long periods of time.

Which courier do you use?

We use DPD Local. DPD Local offer a great delivery service that allow us to provide you with a one hour delivery window on the day of delivery so you are not waiting in all day.

Can i order a multi-aperture frame / mount?

Yes, however its not something that can be purchased via the website. The best thing to do is to draw out a diagram on paper showing how you would like your mount to be laid out, including all the sizes, then scan it in or take a photo of it to send to [email protected] and we'll get back to you with a quote usually within a few hours.

What is backing board?

Backing board sits behind your artwork inside the frame. This helps reduce any rippling on your artwork and helps hold it flush against the glazing at the front of the frame.

How do i apply a voucher code?

You can enter your voucher code in your basket. The voucher code entry box can be located in the bottom left of the basket underneath the options to add hangers and tapes.

What are the differences between the types of wood used in each frame?

We use a range of different woods for our mouldings. The most popular wood types are Pine, Radiata Pine, Obeche, Meranti, Ayous and Oak. They are all natural wood products. We don't use MDF or compressed woods for any of our made to measure or smart search products.

Do you frame memorabilia / shirts?

Yes, however we would need you to send the items to us for framing. Send us an email, or give us a call and let us know the details. We will provide you with a quote and arrange for a collection of your item for framing and return.

Can i order a frame with a mount but with no overlap?

Yes. When you order a mount we cut the opening 4mm smaller on each side to ensure your artwork does not fall through. To override this automatic size reduction, simply add 8mm onto your width and height.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery is next working day after manufacture or dispatch. Unless otherwise stated, ready made frames are dispatched same day and will arrive with you next day. Made to measure items take a few days to manufacture before they are dispatched on a next day delivery service. We update our manufacture times daily based on our average over the last 30 days. Can i collect my order from your factory?

If you would like to collect your order, you can do so from our shop based in Sale, Manchester. Please call us to arrange a collection and we'll have your order delivered to the shop ready for you. We don't allow orders to be collected directly from our factory for health and safety reasons.

What is a veneer with foil finish?

A veneer with foil finish is a wooden frame that has been wrapped in a printed foil, giving it the visual effect of a different material.
